GRACE AUBURN DISTINCTIVES

We are gospel centered. 1 John 4:19  |  John 15:3-5

  • The gospel is not simply the means by which we are converted – it is the message by which we are transformed.

  • We seek to make the gospel, and Jesus himself, the center of all we do. The gospel is the foundation that shapes and drives our theology and our practice.

We embrace modern liturgy.  Ephesians 5:19-20 | Psalm 100

  • We stand on the history of faithful followers of Jesus; Our worship culture combines intentional liturgy reflective of both ancient and modern traditions.

  • Our worship gatherings, from the call to worship, preaching, communion and benediction, always proclaim the Word of God.

We are multigenerational and multicultural. Ephesians 6:1-4 | Psalm 67:3-5

  • Our church family consists of people from all ages and life stages from around the world worshiping together and in community throughout the week.

  • As a faith family, we are all together, but not together all the time.

We believe worship is our whole life response to Jesus.  Romans 12:1-2

  • The goal of discipleship is fully engaged followers of Jesus serving in their homes, church, community, and the world.

  • Discipleship is a lifelong process of people learning to hear, trust, and obey Jesus.

We are a multiplying church. Matthew 28:18-20 | Ephesians 3:8-10

  • The local church is God’s plan for fulfilling the Great Commission. Through the church, God proclaims and demonstrates His love to the world.

  • We belong to a network of churches committed to planting churches. We believe this happens at every level of our local church.

We teach missional living. John 20:21 | 1 Peter 2:4-9 | John 1:14

  • We value gathering together in worship to share our love for God and one another.

  • Grace is at work in our lives; we are a sent people to the city, campus and nations.

We are highly relational. John 13:34 | Ephesians 4:2-3 | 1 Peter 4:8

  • Out of healthy relationships with God and one another, serving is what we get to do, not something we have to do; responsibility without relationship can lead to resentment or rebellion.

  • We believe that the people of Grace Auburn should be known, loved and invited to participate as fully engaged followers of Jesus in His church.

We are a simple church. Acts 2:42-47 | 1 Thessalonians 2:8 | Ephesians 5:21-6:4

  • Rather than program driven, We are a mission driven church that empowers and equips our members to carry the gospel into all areas of our lives.

  • Reaching the city, campus and nations begins in our own homes, and our ministry responsibilities are to reflect relationship priorities.
